"a sad day"

today i attended a funeral. although i've never met the deceased, i felt sorry that i didn't have a chance to meet her and to get to know her.

after hearing eulogies from her friends and family, i was even sorrier that i was too late. i cried with everyone else. they said her home was always welcoming, that she was very hospitable. she was the wind beneath many people's wings.

her husband spoke. he said he wasn't even able to say goodbye , she died so suddenly. she collapsed at the drively during the morning ritual sweeping of the house. he was in such a panic to drag her body to the neighbor's house, he fell on the driveway. when they finally arrived at the hospital she was already dead.
